The Resident Idiot is gleeful now that the NDA has suffered a “historic defeat” never mind the fact that it is only 7 seats behind the Congress.
Well, for one, I won’t even bother to completely fisk this retard’s ramblings because it (as usual) contains the same old boring stuff about the downtrodeen, the poor, the hungry and sick villagers who have been pillaged by the elitist NDA for a horribly communal rule of 6 years, the pro-US stance adopted by the NDA, the greedy business houses, the present unjust capitalist economic order that has fostered inequality…… I’ll let you fill in the rest. This article is also especially noteworthy for its verbal violence.
The point I want to bring to attention is how dangerous it is for the media to lend respectability to hatemongers like Bidwai. In his overenthusiasm over the massive victory–securing 60 seats is indeed an achievement of sorts for the Left–of his Red Comrades, Bidwai goes overboard. I seriously doubt his sanity for he says,
This is not because the Congress party has kept all the prestigious high-profile portfolios for itself… Rather, it is because its choice of ministers is mixed and in many ways conservative. It falls short of what is needed.
And what is needed?
…one does get the impression that individuals like Laloo Prasad Yadav and Kapil Sibal have been given lighter portfolios than they deserve.
This is notable for three aspects: one, isn’t Bidwai aware of Laloo’s legendary reputation? Two, is the Railway ministry a “light” portfolio by any standard? And three, in saying this, Bidwai has given legitimacy to criminals occupying high political offices. In addition, does this say anything about Bidwai’s own leanings/mental makeup? As they say, “tell me who your friends are, I’ll tell you who you are.”
It is also instructive to quickly compare his list of likes and dislikes:

| Laloo | Need anyone comment on this choice? | Manmohan Singh | Bidwai barely masks his dislike for Singh for his 1991 reforms |
| Sibu Soren | Facing bribery charges; scandalous reputation | Chidambaram | Hates him because he is seen as a neo-capitalist or whatever. Hates him all the more because of his Harvard B School background. |
| Kapil Sibal | Loves him obviously for endless dynasty sycophancy; pained that Sibal didn’t get due recognition for his sycophancy | Pranab | For some reason, thinks that he does not adhere to “principles” without bothering to define or list out the principles in question. |
| Pakistan/ISI | Is pained to see that its spotless image as a peace-loving country is being tainted by Hindu communalists. |
Ladies and Gentlemen, who is the person that has the courage to rein in this dangerous lunatic running amok so often?

That was some innovative fisking. But I am concerned that these commies are really upto doing some damage.
From Bharath Rakshak :
This points to the real fears of the reactionaries that the genuine communist revolutionaries in India are attracting and leading wide sections of the people. I am sure many educated people are highly discontent with the likes of Laloo becoming RM.
These International Commie Brigade is major threat to the Indian democratic system.

The UPA has not received an overwhelming mandate for change. It is still very much a hung parliament.
But ministers and coalition partners are shooting their mouths off as if they have been given a strong mandate by the electorate.
The UPA has no right to deviate drastically from the previous government’s policies. Some course corrections yes, but no major changes.

Nitin,
The UPA is a loose coalition of mostly self-seekers and sycophants who have nothing in common, really. Everybody wants a share in the pie. Contrast the way the NDA had managed its allies to present. The only glue that binds them together is an irrational fear of “communalists” taking over. This fear helps among others, mostly the Communists. The rest don’t have a clue about anything.

If Praful hates some of the choices, then they must be good one.
