Anything that has US in it, and the Left dingbats will cry foul. With negotiations on for the proposed sale of F-16s to India, the Coalition Partner Without Responsibility aka the Left is already up in arms against India buying the planes. They have been quick to draft a shabbily worded resolution aimed to block this move.

The Union Defence Minster has remarked it as “the positive development in this respect is that for the first time we have received such an offer from the US”. The UPA government should be wary of such offers. First of all, India has been accessing defence equipment from a number of countries and experience shows that the United States cannot be relied upon to be a dependable supplier for political reasons.

So they suggest an alternative, “independent” foreign policy. And that is,

The pursuit of an independent foreign policy and forging closer ties with all major countries including China…
