Just as I blogged earlier about the deadly precursor to yet another historic blunder, the Srinagar-Pak bus service the terrorists militants have scored another goal. If anything, they have my heartfelt praise for wasting no time.
Militants attacked and set on fire on Wednesday the heavily guarded complex housing passengers due to take a historic bus across Kashmir, witnesses said. [...] Orange flames leapt several metres into the air and women were seen jumping from ground floor windows amid sporadic gunfire. It was unclear if the attackers were still inside or had been killed.
But the people whom we’ve entrusted our nation’s security keep harping on the same tune: PASSENGERS SAFE. That’s a relief indeed. Call it the mandatory assurance given by the political PR morons or call it another exercise in stupidity, my disgust has saturated. Or is this statement an example of a novel method of positive thinking? The imbeciles are not worried that terror struck again, but take solace in the fact that “passengers are safe!” What were they expecting? A handful of dead bodies, a regular occurrence in that region?
And the last time I heard, India has not changed its mind about inviting the Terrorist General to watch (sic) cricket matches.

Im still not sure what exactly are the terms and conditions agreed upon in relation to the bus journey and their subsequent legal political consequences. IWhether or not paki’s can travel on it without a passport? Clearly that couldnt be allowed.
The militants strikes on the bus will backfire on them as it will surely turn even more kashmiri’s against them.
I think the bus service is basically what the solution to the conflict in the end will be around. ie; boths sides keep their territories but allow a degree of interaction btw two kashmirs.
As for musharaf coming to India. I wonder if pseudo secular morons like Praful Bidwai kuldip nayer et al will write passionate columns or even hold demonstrations against the visit of the man whose directly responsible for kargil war and the lives of 1000 Indian soldiers. Obviously in India there’s one standard of a hindu like modi and quite another for a muslim like musharaf.

beware of cricket-loving dictators. This cheat sheet should help those who need some guidance on how democracies should treat those dictators that they are compelled to deal with.
