Why the hatred on difference of opinion? The maoists in Nepal are advocating a democratic set up… where does ‘communist despotism’ come in within the frame work of democracy?

Calling someone a liar and an idiot is fairly easy, and quite puerile when it’s not backed with reasoning… i don’t see any statement in Bidwai’s article that warrants a ‘liar’ accusation..

There is a clear case to label Prafool Bidwai’s utterings as “Hate Speech”. He refers to the media vehicles that criticise the current establishment (Lalu looters + Congress Corrupts + Communist crroks) as the “Savarna Media”. That’s a joke! The Savarna Media as defined by ownership of the publication/broadcast entity in question is pro-establishment! Starting with “The Hindu” which is run by Tamizh Iyengars; thru apologists in India and abroad - Pandeys, Mukherjees, Jhas, Sharmas - are all ’savarna’. In contrast it is the non-savarnas typified by outfits such as the regional language newspapers, much of the neo-liberals who criticise the current establishment. Prafool’s language is very much in line with the attempts to demonise specific communities. It has happened before in Europe when it was OK to slander the Jews (as it is OK today in much of the Arab world) or in Tamil Nadu where the late EVR warned the Brahmins that they would mee the same fate as did the Jews under Hitler. The Indian Subcontinent’s Pol Pot - Comrade Prachanda - has plenty of support within India.

Yesterday in Nepal, the Marxist terrorists have murdered a Hindu priest performing a puja to raise funds for a local college. Education is one of the things Bidwai’s gun-toting friends in Nepal are up against — some others being peace, civiliztion, democracy, norms and values — because they know that they cannot recruit the educated in their ranks.

NEPAL: SPLIT IN REBEL CAMP?

The BBC reports of infighting within Nepal’s Maoist rebel movement. If the reports are true, it would behoove both India and Nepal to exploit it. Divide and conquer has toppled many of insurgencies, especially those with a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist id…
