When we’re bored with mainstream entertainment—movies and all–we get treated to real life entertainment, courtesy our leaders, the motors that run the nation, that decide what’s good and bad for us, and generally try to refine our tastes.
And so the no smoking scenes to be shown in films and on television diktat provides the perfect opportunity to unleash the latent creativity of bloggers.
Not to be outdone by Mr.Ramdoss, who has shown such concern for the nation’s collective health,
Union Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Culture Jaipal Reddy on Wednesday said the ban on smoking scenes in films would not apply to films on historical events and biographical works.
Talking to newspersons at the airport here, Mr Reddy, answering a question, said old films and television serials had also been exempted from the ban.
Historical, biographical films to be exempt from smoking ban:The Hindu
Some ray of light at last. If the morons do-gooders had their way, they’d ask the producers/directors of all the old movies–remember, a whole lot of Raj Kapoor and Gurudutt movies showed smokin’ heroes?–to chop off/blur the offending scenes. Or else!
Let the buffoonery continue.
PS: The ban doesn’t include historical and biographical works? Beats me. Any guesses?
