The battle for Bangalore is getting uglier. It’s old news that Narayan Murthy has resigned from BIAL. TVR Shenoy has some thoughts. My own (pictorial) take, which sums up the episode somewhat.

I think it is deplorable to insult people like you did by.
I think Gowda has started a valid debate. Is Infosys the only IT company around? Let Murthy worry about his company rather than on Bangalore which thanks to him is no more what it was ( you must have guessed the reasons). India’s GDP is close to 1.2 Trillion dollars. The whole IT industry generates only around 27 Billion. That is not even 3 percent of Indias GDP. Things cannot change in a day in a country like India. If Murthy wanted things to change then why did he not make the demands about these things when Mr Krishna was the CM. Let us talk about the development in terms of infrastructure when Krishna was there. Well other than that for a few flyovers (3-4) nothing much happened in Krishna’s reign. Why do these IT companies not make similar demands in Chennai which is completely drowned by the recent rains? Even Mr Gowda should realize that things need to start moving.

Deve Gowda is seasoned politician, who has realised that the Urban voters wont really harm his constituency. Its the Rural votebank that matters and he is playing it to the hilt.
He needs alos know that for Karnataka, Bangalore is JEWEL in the Crown.
Look @ Politicians in Tamil Nadu, whatsoever their Political difference, when it comes to development for their State they stand united. TN has got the highest no:of of ministers in the Current Union Cabinet. TN had always had stalwarts representing their state at the Center, since independence.
Karnataka has always received a stepmotherly treatment on account of the Opposition Govt at the State or Central Level.

Dear readers,
Sometime back I have read the news that someone from America (may be a former from CIA) has published a book wherein he states something like “another war that never happened…”.
The news was about post-parilament-attack (13-Dec-2001) events that were leading us to another Indo-Pak war. What made me more interested is the mention of Mr. NR Narayan Murthy (Infosys chief). The news said, ‘It is because Mr. Murthy and few other IT giants from India pressured the then PM MR. Vajpayee, India didn’t attack Pak.’
Can anybody provide more info on this, please?
I am sorry, as the info given by me is very sparse but at that time i was travelling in a train and got to get only a glimpse of the news on the fellow passenger’s newspaper.
Thanks in advance,
