When Terrorists Become Ministers
Monday, 20. February 2006 - 1:11 PM
Rewards are announced for terrorist activities.
The Minister for Minority Welfare and Haj in the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, Haji Yaqoob Qureishi, has announced a cash reward of Rs 51 crore for anyone who beheads the Danish cartoonist who caricatured Prophet Mohammad.
All World Hail and Herald the Desi Khoemini, Mr.Haji Yaqoob Qureishi! And it is obvious that he has Mr.Mulayam “Secular” Yadav’s full support and blessings.
While the state government has defended the Minister’s remark as the “voice of someone whose religious sentiments have been hurt,” …
The Hindus of course in their spirit of supreme cowardice tolerance will take Hussain Miyan’s regular penchant for painting Hindu Goddesses nude in their stride. A few stray protests get branded by the secular media as–what else? “threat to free speech,” “communal,” …. you know the drill. Truly ghastly, severe indeed when you compare the response the Danish affair has begotten: torching embassies, killing of a lone Indian by a bunch of enraged Muslims, and now, this desi ministerial fatwa. I’ve seen the actual cartoons and to describe the collective psyche of people resorting to such non-violent form of protest across the globe is beyond the scope of words.
Oh but the minister minces no words:
Speaking to The Indian Express, Qureishi defended his announcement saying it was a “concerted decision” and the killing of a person who blasphemed Islam was “justified.”
Right. Concerted decision it is. Islam has been blasphemed, and India is governed by the Shariat. Sock it to ‘em, it has governmental sanction. It is again not pure coincidence that the entire secular crowd is steeped in silence. That includes the ruling UPA. A surprising element of consolation comes in the form of various Muslim bodies including the AIMPLB which has roundly condemned this bigot.
Postscript:
- The Minister is defiant in his bigotry.
- Indian Muslims continue their protest in style.

It is unfortunate that such Fatwas have come from an Indian minister. The govt should fire and indict him on charges of attempted murder.
I have seen a line on IE that Sonia is “outraged” by the cartoons. So it is likely that some idiot is going to murder the cartoonist sooner or later ala Van Gogh style. And this time he not only gets heaven but also 51 crore.

Praveen,
>>And this time he not only gets heaven but also 51 crore.
You forgot the 72 virgins

Where are RSS fellas when you need them?
You forgot the 72 virgins
Well thats one reason why not to be a Muslim martyr, 72 eternal virgins in heaven would be a lifetime of inexperience isnt it?

72 virgins! I overlooked that. Hell, if this virgin thing were really true, i dont mind symapathising with the cause of the martyrs.

Sandeep, for some reason the comments I leave are not appearing on your blog. I didn’t use any profanity in my comment. It’s happened previously also.

You have summed it up nicely.I like your writing as it’s well researched, concise and I can find all the information at one single place unlike some of regular news sites.
