Keeping up the Spirit to Die Continually

What is more interesting: the Bombay terror attacks or the spirit/resilience/hardiness/fighting spirit?
Barely a few hours after the blasts, the media began thrusting the “spirit of Mumbai” tonic down the nation’s throat to an extent that it buried news of the tragedy.
I suppose they didn’t refer to this as the said spirit.
There’s absolutely nothing called the “spirit (or whatever) of Mumbai (or any city).” People can’t afford to stay back home unless they’re really, seriously ill or invalidated or are blown to bits like in this case: they need to work. This is what the media clowns want us to believe, I suppose: Mumbai back to normal, nothing can deter it, long live the spirit of Mumbai…more nonsense. Or if the jokers want us to think that all those acts of kindness by fellow-citizens constitutes the “spirit,” that’s exaggerating a common phenomenon: people will usually help other people in distress.
The media however, isn’t celebrating any spirit: it is asking us to simply shut our senses to the government’s failure to protect its citizens. What is your immediate reaction if (God forbid, etc) a dear one is the target of a terror attack? I’m sure you would rush to the streets and prance around celebrating the spirit of Mumbai and pray for such attacks to occur everyday so you can celebrate daily, for the rest of your life.
The media’s celebration of the spirit is another smokescreen aimed to prevent another dangerous mark: it is asking us to behave as if nothing has happened, and worse, to expect it in future: you know, terrorists are brutes, they keep doing these things but let’s take it in our stride and move on, we can’t really stop them, can we? It is asking us to accept cowardice as a way of life. And so almost every news house showcased this letter as the epitome of the said spirit. As someone commented aptly (I forget on which blog), the terrorist will shudder at the “spirit” and keep off Mumbai.
This “spirit of Mumbai” joke is another grim reminder of the media’s near-total complicity with the establishment. The haste to divert the nation’s focus from the Islamic threat–okay, “Lamb” Manmohan Singh bleated thundered against Pakistan, etc–was more than evident when the media found it compelling to focus on the plight of Indian Muslims. And “Lamb” Manmohan Singh’s threat to “discontinue the peace process (sic)” is further proof of idiocy: when was the last time you heard of any “peace process” initiative from the other side of the border? On the other hand, you have the eternally-despicable Slimes which reports that these attacks were meant to avenge the Gujarat riots. Right. The Mumbaikars deserved this, and everyone who died in the train was a Hindu. And so for the next 10 or so years, the media will justify/tilt/report every Islamic attack on India as revenge for Gujarat.
Thus is secularism defended in India.
Before we leave, let’s assume the blasts were carried out by Hindus. Would the media still celebrate the spirit of Mumbai?

it is asking us to simply shut our senses to the government’s failure to protect its citizens.
This is precisely the point. So far except for a couple of columnists, nobody from the media has hauled the govt
The slimes also mentions the following ‘LeT is not able to find recruits in Gujarat.’
Is this not strange. Logically the riot hit areas should be fertile ground for terrorist recruitment. Why are youths from other places joining the terrorist groups? I forget it must be the Bombay riots of 1993. But I know one thing for sure – Ishrat Jehan’s place in Mumbra was not affected by riots.
Even now there are people who claim that the perpetrators may not be muslims.

Funny how a few “crackers” went off and everyone suddenly realizes they are in it together. How about carrying on this so called “spirit” and making sure such things never happen in the first place.
Need to work on Mumbai’s indifference before praising it’s spirit. Otherwise, be prepared to get hit again.

This spirit of Mumbai is a dangerous phrase used by pseudo politicians just to stifle the growing anger of Mumbaites every time a tragedy occurs. They think that by singing paens to the so-called spirit of Mumbai, they will be able to curb any tendency to revolt. And what best thing than to warn of “communalising the issue”? All our secular brethren will cow back lest they get branded as “communal” if they vent their anger?
In yesterday’s Sunday times, Nilanjana Sengupta captured the mood of the Mumbaiite very well in her article – “the Annoying spirit”!

SECULAR MEDIA-STOP THIS NON SENSE
STOP reminding, the resilience and resolve to carry on with the life as if I had a choice. STOP celebrating the spirit of communal harmony, as if every time HINDUS started rioting and killing Muslims as soon as bomb blasted somewhere. STOP pretending that crisis will be over by shutting our eyes. STOP being POLITICALLY CORRECT.STOP THAT. STOP THERE.
Start Thinking; pondering…
-You and me were just plain lucky that we did not get kill in this blast. But shall we be lucky or our children, next time?
-Would you or me had accepted a cheque for RS.500, 000/= because my kin lost life in blast as a magnanimous gesture of LALOO YADAV or SONIA GANDHI in the presence of media?
-How would you or me have felt had there been our friends or family members?
-Has any body seen (even in the night mares) our loved ones in the position of those who lost their lives?
-How and what makes you so confident that you or me are not the next?
-What is the reason for you to believe that you or me shall not die (wasted), in the next bomb blast?
-How would have you felt, God forbid, incase a near and dear one of your or mine had lost life and `Secular’ media justified, “LIFE MUST GO ON†and celebrate the spirit of `Resilience’?
-Once again would you have just accepted the platitudes of the SARDAR MANMOHAN SINGH that INDIA WILL NOT KNEEL TO TERRORISM and goes on with the company of Arjun and Antulay?
If answer to all the above mentioned are NO then what are you thinking? What have you done? Whom are you waiting for? And why are you waiting?
This is Kal-youg, no Lord Krishna is going to preach you about your `Dharma’, and he has done it once.
History shows that no Invader has ever conquered India without the support of an in sider (enemy). Be it Jaichand or Mir Jaffer. If it were them, then, than who are Arjun and Antulay?
START THINKING AND DO SOMETHING.TIME IS SHORT AND SO IS THE LIFE.
Regards.
