Apparently although all Muslims are (theoretically) equal there are devisions between the Ashraf and the Ajlaf as any social scientist would tell you. The Ashraf are the higher borns -the Syeds ,Khans, moghuls of supposedly foreign ancestory while the Ajlaf (e.g the julahas ,ansari etc.. )are local born -descendents of local converts Some muslim castes are already under reservation.

I am not sure how one would categorize Muslims into OBCs and others? Are these self selected groups (can a Hyderabad Nawab be an OBC now)?
