At least in the lexicon of a few like-minded folks, this blogger included. Unless you haven’t figured it out, I’m speaking about the Verbal Terrorist: see, last name is Terrorist.
We had so far groaned under the assault of her verbal barrage about freedom fighters et al. But now, she has burst her charge. Physically.
Booker Prize-winning author Arundhati Roy joined a sit-in in New Delhi on Wednesday, demanding mercy for Mohammad Afzal, who has been sentenced to death in the Parliament attack case.
The sit-in was organised by the Society for the Protection of Detainees’ and Prisoners’ Rights headed by S A R Geelani, who was aquitted in the case earlier.
Roy, who said she is participating in the protest because she is against death penalty, also added, “The whole case is full of faulty evidence and fabricated stories and to hang someone for something he may not have done is not fair.” She demanded a Parliamentary inquiry into the case.
Such exemplary display of courage is not new to her. In this, her latest stunt, she has perhaps for the first time, openly proclaimed support to a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist. The fact that Afzal is sentenced to death for the 2001 Parliament attack is immaterial. That he should’ve been summarily shot because he is a terrorist is reason enough.
At least that’s what sanity–and commonsense–says should be done.
But endowed as she is with superior sagacity, the Verbal Terrorist turns her venom against Afzal’s execution. You can bet she’d have written elegant prose had the Parliament been bombed. So she’s making amends now, pleading for the terrorist’s life. Remember, her last name?
Expect her to support the Taliban next.
Don’t yell at me for this horrible picture. It’s the best I could manage

Sandeep,
I wish someone carries out an investigation on where these weirdos get their succour from (I mean, on whose payroll they are!).
Infact I vaguely remember a book (as usual not very well publicised) which revealed the antecedants of high profile pacifists like Harsh Mander for one, who got enormous sums from US based outfits to carry out their anti national activities in the garb of NGO activism.
I’m sure there is more to Ms. Roy’s idiosyncratic idealism than what is being projected.

Nice pic, sandeep. It says a lot.
Gee, the nerve of Suzanna A. Roy. At one point, she was ashamed of being an Indian after NDA govt ignited the parmaanu pataaka at pokhran.
She is nothing but a third-rate provocateur.
Down with capitalism, comrade!

well we cant blame her
she wrote a book she got the booker
fame got to her head she went nuts
worse she is (if im right) half keralite
so half commi which is worse and
also portrays herself as an anti establishment contrarian
not that being contrarian is a bad thing but she should shut her mouth and go into the stock markets and make lots of money instead and then use it to help all those suffering people, or atleast to get a thorrough psychological check.
she reminds me of that jennifer lopez movie made by Tarsem Singh which i saw a long time ago.

Sandeep,
Hope you don’t mind the response to Ravindra’s post in this thread. The book he was referring to is:
Rajan, R et. al. (ed.): NGO’s, Activists and Foreign Funds: Anti-nation industry; Aditya Prakashan, New Delhi
I recently purchased the book and am reading it currently. It certainly opens your eyes to the vast network and money that is pumped into all these NGO’s.
