Thanks to a reader, I get to read this outrageous piece of news.
The Jammu and Kashmir assembly on Friday evening passed the Shariat Bill providing for application of Muslim Personal Law in the state to bring it at par with rest of the country.
Strange that a matter of this importance should go completely unreported in the media.
Why don’t they throw away this farce and declare J & K the Islamic Republic of Jammu and Kashmir? That’s what some sections want anyway.
After all, our Muslim-first Prime Minister has set the precedent in his recent “model” Muslim villages scheme.

They have forgotten that Kashmir is governed by the Shariat law. Hindus in Kashmir are zimmis; only, they have the luxury of not paying the jaziya tax–at least, not yet. A demand for land for setting up facilities for Amarnath pilgrims is rather impudent. The need of the hour is not protest but gradual acclimatization to new realities. For example, does any Hindu protest that Kailas Manas Sarovar be handed back to India? [...]
