Pratibha Patil (huh? etc) might finally deck the President’s office. The Congress party’s propaganda papers media’s fervent efforts to pitch her as the next big something (whatever that/she is) lend loads of credibility to this. For a non-entity, Outlook has found her weighty enough to dedicate an entire opinion poll. The poll results are shockingly surprising. Women want her as President!
And why not? Pratibha Patil’s self-proclaimed credentials are enough, and is the fundamental reason why she was suddenly thrust into the ring. She gets to enjoy all Presidential pelfs as long as she consistently, blindly, obediently, says this: Just Tell Me Where I Should Sign.
On matters of lesser importance, she can always consult the Blue Book authored by Fakruddin Ali Ahmed with detailed appendices by Giani Zail Singh.

Sandeep,
What amazes me in this entire episode is the manner in which the so-called Opposition alarmingly excels in scoring self-goals. I wonder at the muddled thinking of the UNPA, which was steadfast against the UPA candidate, how does it ensure that Pratibha Patil does not win if it does not vote for Shekhawat? I wonder at the ridiculous logic of the Shiv Sena, whose supremo had written a scathing piece attacking Dr. Kalam for not rejecting Afzal’s clemency plea forthwith. Does it think Pratibha tai is going to send Afzal to the gallows? Isnt it common sense that Pratibha Patil will tend to be UPA-leaning (to put it mildly) - and will that suit Bal Thackeray?
And most importantly, leave alone trying to combine forces, by in fact straining time-tested relations - (BJP-SS), what is the picture emerging for the Opposition for the 2009 elections?
UPA must already be having a celebration party - now that it has triumphantly planted its puppets in crucial posts - (Pratibha tai as President, and Naveen Chawla as CEC-in-waiting), well set for any mishaps in the pre-election and post-election scenarios!

A seasoned politician like Bal Thakre is not stupid, he is fully aware of the implications of his choice.
There is something deeper going on.

The choice of Pratibha (not so pratibha for congress now) is more difficult to digest now as her predecessor was APJ KALAM saab.
That precisely, is the reason our politicians (Sonia nad communists) want a good for nothing fellow as president or pm.
Nobody wants another meritious person to be recognized by the political system.
Shame on Sycopants

Unless we rid of sycophants we will never be able to start off in proper reforms.
Deve Gowda or Gujral is any day better as they fight electoral battles and stake their claim, whatever crooked way. But, see our PM. He is enjoying as a stooge. A la chieftain in olden days. He is not realizing the damage he is doing by sitting in a chair for which he has no claim.
Educated people are called educated when they know the damage they may be doing to the system. The PM has in single act, destroyed the constitution, what our forefathers built with care.
A pen pusher and architect economist by accident, our PM has played a disastrous role in degeneration of our political system.
The choice of Pratibha, is one more act, reflecting the total disregard for lakhs of Indians.
