Secular Conscience-Keepers

A judge makes a valid observation rooted in India’s timeless tradition. Hours later, as expected, the entire weight of the secular sections falls upon him. The secular sections are alarmed that this statement will hurt the sentiments of the minorities.
Matters of policy and religious affairs given to the Constitutional minorities have to be kept in view," senior lawyer, KTS Tulsi told CNN-IBN over the phone.
As always happens in such cases, we have blindly accepted the mindless hollering that unfailingly occurs in these cases. The Bhagavad Gita truly transcends all man-made divisions and holds valuable lessons for everybody. Why don’t we examine what it says before branding it a "religious book" and tie ourselves up in a mess?
Admittedly, the judge went over the top when he said:
…if we can have a national bird, we might as well have a national holy book too.
But why condemn the judge alone?
I’ll say in the interests of secularism, let’s change our existing national animal from Tiger to Camel.
