Long ago, I wrote that our lamb-like gentle Puppet Prime Minister had roared after he had been sufficiently cornered by the Opposition.
Now he roars again. In style. And joins the stellar galaxy of politicians, intellectuals, liberals, socialists, communists and human rights activists who had waxed articulately on the Gujarat riots. But there’s a crucial difference in his perception of the riots. While others have called it variously as mass murder, massacre, state-sponsored violence, genocide, the lamb puts all those terms to rest. His definitive term: HOLOCAUST.
The BJP, of all parties,is the least qualified to talk about the moral rights to govern. Look at the Holocaust that took place in Gujarat.
Manmohan Singh is sooo funny.

One should only have sympathy for this impotent PM
Lame duck and spineless - he attempts to roar only against the BJP.
Last heard he wet his pants when his master (her excellency, italian mafia queen, sonia) shouted at him loudly in front of everyone.
Just curious will our PM (someone I had a lot of respect, probably misplaced, earlier) call out the holocaust of 1984?
This is the case with all “leaders” who have no base of their own…within their party or amongst the electorate.
In the Congress, this is doubly difficult. No base can even be created that stands against the “family”. At least, no one there seems to have the “stomach” for such a fight.
I reckon Singh went in knowingly. Why? There can be a number of reasons.
In so far as “holocaust” is concerned, words are indeed used freely in this country.
Let’s look at the accusation “traitor” bandied about by most national leaders. When was the last time some such “traitor” was tried and shot? By the Congress govts or other regimes?
Palahalli, one would think at least the country’s PM would use his words carefully. And usually they do.
Chandra…yes, you have a point there. Ironically…the same Shri. Singh voiced his resentment when the US denied Modi a Visa.
I guess Singh wanted to lash out and lost his balance.
I will recall an anecdote. It was 1965 and the nation was at war. Shastri had called all men of influence for a conference in order to discuss the issues. There were some of the opposition who…at every given opportunity raised their voice against the government. There was one who kept saying …”your army this…”…”your army that…”. Golwalkar, who was invited and present amongst them..lost his patience and sharply reprimanded the gentleman. “Not “your” army…Say “our” army!”
Then again…the Prime Minister is also a political animal. It is really not strange to find Heads of State/govt who make partisan “domestic” statements. But once they are in a foreign land..or in the company of foreigners…they must all close ranks.
Happy Vijaydashmi to you all. Hope Good prevails over Evil everywhere
Even on this forum
Dr.Singh is immoral person who stab in the back.
Credit is given to him for Economic reform but the Fact is it was Narashimha Rao who sttod by him for 5 years inspite of criticism from his own party including Madam Gandhi.
Remember her statement where she blamed then govt of deviating from Nehru Mixed Economy policy.
And wat Dr.Singh did….
When Rao needed his support he made that (in)famous statement that “Ceaser should be…..”
Now in his own Govt he is having Murdered,Rapist as Minister.
And most ashamed that in his pmship Narashimha Rao was not even given Due Respect on his death.
Let God do the same which they do with other.
I see you called MMS a “puppet”. The question is “a puppet for whom”. All his actions such as
fake nuke deal
calling Indians grateful for british colonization
rampant abuse of Hindus eg Shankaracharya episode
clearly signify this PM as a western puppet. Why suddenly Bush and company have started singing praises of India when they were previously pouring abuse on BJP, including strip search of George Fernandez and denial of visa to Modi.
Amidst all the talk of holocaust, I wonder if anyone has any time for what may well be the largest genocide in history?

Over 2 years ago Arvind Lavakare had debunked the ‘genocide’ claims, holds good even today.
http://in.rediff.com/news/2004/jul/28arvind.htm
I’ll quote here
According to the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, ‘genocide’ refers to ‘acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.’ Note that little word ‘a’ in that definition.
When Nazi Germany extinguished six million of a single group called Jews, that was genocide.
When, in 1984, Congress party goons extinguished over 3,000 of a single group called Sikhs, that too was genocide.
In 1989-1990, when some Muslims in the Kashmir valley slaughtered some 10,000 Kashmiri Pandits, killed or raped their women in front of their eyes, and ultimately expelled some 350,000 Pandits from their homes, that was genocide of a religious group.
In Gujarat 2002, however, of the total deaths (as per the home ministry’s official annual report for 2002-2003, page 6), about a third were Hindus (including 59 charred in a train compartment) and 200 in all were killed in police firing. If, at one stage, 100,000 Muslims were struggling in relief camps, so were 40,000 Hindus. Thus, Gujarat 2002 was not genocide of one ethnic community as the UNDP report alleges.
Secondly, the authors of that report want us to believe that but for Gujarat 2002, the constitutional secularism of Indian democracy has by and large fulfilled its promise of all communities living in a paradise of religious pluralism. That’s a falsehood. The truth is documented in the book Riots & Wrongs (India First Foundation, New Delhi, 2004) written by R N P Singh, an ex-officer of India’s Intelligence Bureau who was honoured with the President’s Police Medal and Indian Police Medal.
Statistics cited by Singh show that communal violence in India occurred in each and every year from 1954 to 1985. The total number of communal incidents in those 31 years was 8,449 (an annual average of 273), the total number of persons killed in that period was 7,229 (an annual average of 233), and the number of persons injured in those incidents was 47,321 (an annual average of 1,526).
After 1985, communal riots have also occurred in every year from 1986 to 1995, and in 1997, 2002 (besides Gujarat), and 2003.
