There is a difference between CPM and BJP : most of the top CPM leaders are fanatics, they are actually committed to their cause,in contrast the BJP top leadership is full of rank political opportunists who will cheerfully stab their own comrades. Unlike Hajpayee, Jyoti Basu will not make moronic statements about Rajdharma, he will not embarrass his CM. I remember NDTV’s post Godhra riot coverage, and I remember it being covered by Barkha Dutt (Punjabi Dutt not Bong) and Rajdeep Sardesai (again, not a bong).

I am mot sure if NDTV is really Anti Gujarati or if Roy is really a Bengali intellectual. It is plainly family issues involved here as shown above and anyway Modi is the favorite whippping boy of the media. Anything anti-Modi is bound to bring the right patronage.

It’s time we expose NDTV. This channel has totally blacked out Nandigram and it’s obsession with Gujarat continues unabated.
It continues showing Gujarat in the negative (sometimes cleverly wrapped in documentaries like “Consumerism on rise in Gujarat” etc) and keeps up the ante.

Pranoy Roy and his team is on a mission. He surely has an agenda and to his credit has a very sleek presentation power to influence gullible viewers. We should call his bluff. We should have a focussed target and keep exposing NDTV at every possible opportunity.

NDTV may not be the most watched channel but it certainly exerts influencing powers over other media houses far disproportionate to it’s actual popularity.

My theory is that most media houses follow NDTV’s call.

In the documentary on Gujarat’s consumerism the commentator (in a shrewed husky and humble voice) started talking of stock market and malls and then expectedly shifted focus to Baroda Art student issue and Gujarat riots. The insinuation was the Gujaratis are by and large money-minded but at the same time very intolerant.

The underlying notion of Gujarati mind being inhuman in a sense is induced in the documentary in a clever manner.

At the cost of going into regionalism, i feel that since NDTV is pre-dominantly Bengali , it is jealous of Gujarati success. Now i know most people would not agree. But come to think of it, Bengal does not have anything to show for last 30 years in terms of progress, both economical and social.

It’s difficult for “intellectual” Bengali like Roy to digest this. Also Modi , true to his style, always “gave it back” to NDTV whenever they tried to mess with him.

Again this is something the narcissist Roy does not take lying. I have observed that NDTV has been in the fore front of portraying Gujarat negatively in last 5-6 years.

Others just follow them.

NDTV’s single point agenda needs to be exposed again and again till the time they know that people are aware.

The focus lights should shift firmly on NDTV.

Sandeep - your forum would have thousands of visitors if not more. Let us come with some ideas to bell the NDTV cat. It is important for all of us that Media houses like NDTV do not go unexposed.

Modi is going to loose elections inspite of what IBN survey says. The reason is the pathetic so called Hindu voter is going to assume that BJP his going to win and not come out on election day. He/She would be watching Saas Bahu series on TV instead of going out and voting. This exact middle class apathy let down Vajpayee in 2004.

NDTV will ensure after Modi’s loss that he is hounded to death. Their glee will know no bounds and they will be shouting from roof tops about victory of secularism over communalism.

I seriously feel that operation “EXPOSE-NDTV” should be started by some talented “H-vadi” and if not today atleast make it pay for what it has done in the long run.

Only question is how to go about it?

You are right. Ever since it found a voice in mainstream politics, the Left has consistently sabotaged every good that we ever hoped to achieve/planned. All in the name of the “suffering people,” of course. Looks like Nandigram will be their Waterloo but again, you can’t underestimate the Left.
