This is not the kind of thing to appear on my blog but I’m real angry at this headline:
It’s time the numbskulls at BCCI think beyond money and just cancel the damn tour. Being the world’s richest cricket body, it should be pretty easy to pay back the other racist clowns in the ICC. Money talks. While they’re at it, the Indian media should write a scoop analyzing the Aussie cricket team’s behavior. Why they behave the way they do. How it is related to their criminal ancestry, etc… It should be on the same lines–or better–as this outrageous piece of shit (no apologies for the language).
As Indian bloggers, why don’t we muster sufficient numbers and Google-bomb Andrew Stevenson. An appropriate title for the Google bomb is both solicited and welcome.

The BCCI guys are just money-grubbing politicians who won’t think a damn about this insult to Hinduism
Did you see the picture of Andrew Symonds depicted as Lord Hanuman in the Sunday Mail paper?
Clearly the Aussies want to provoke a religious war here.
Steve Waugh is a well known for his “Hindoos need to be converted” thoughts. Guy has bought a piece of property in kolkota, I think, and has made it a xtian only place.
Long ago, when I used to go to rec.sport.cricket, THE cricket discussion group, you could see the racism overtly dripping off some aussie posters..
Google bomb Andrew Symonds..”Andrew Crymonds”
What a shame!!! There are Indians who have propagated the idea that castes plays into cricket. Two questions remain: What evidence is there to suggest that cricket is an elite game? Was it an elite game in England or did it acquire such a character in India? Second, why should Brahmins rescind more “prestigious” sedantary occupations to engage in “low caste” activities requiring physical efforts like playing cricket?
Sandeep,
I guess we need to first distinguish that the team which plays under the garb of the Indian team is a private team which plays for the BCCI (refer to a court judgement some years ago). It is completely a matter related to private individuals (even the ICC and Cricket Australia are private bodies and do not represent any country)
While we can suggest a plan of action and at our individual level, do whatever we can to correct this mess (boycott the Aussie matches as spectators, let there be empty stands and no television viewership!), it is nobody’s case to involve the prime minister here. (Can someone point the link, cannot find it now
) I bet he will lose a lot of sleep here. And even though the Aussie PM is a cricket fan, he is not going to give any sound-byte to the media.
You are right about the outrageous stuff written in the Aussie media. Unfortunately, we have a lot of left-liberal pussies in our media who cannot see through the game, or ignore if they indeed see through the media games of the Aussies. Never has one controversial article damning the Aussie team been published in the Indian media. Infact, We allow Ian and Greg Chappel, Tony Greig (he is an Aussie citizen now) and other assorted Aussies to write columns in our newspapers and pay them a hell lot of money for it! I have never seen a Gavaskar or a Ravi Shastri column in any Aussie newspaper.
One of the Seinfeld episodes has a lead character stating that Australia was nation founded by convicts and other lowest dregs of British society. Come to think of it…
If not cancelling the tour, send some second rate team of Bhopal or Ranchi to play there just for the kicks. And appoint Hanif (Manmohan lost his sleep over him) as captain.
This is outrageous!! India needs to walk out of Australia and boycott them until they apologize for this mess.
The joke is that Bhajji uttered a popular Hindi expletive which Mr. Symmonds misconstrued as “monkey” (in Aussie accent) and felt offended! That leaves Bhajji quite red-faced since he can not even defend himself or give any justifications!
That apart, I’m glad that atleast in one arena, India is demonstrating some serious muscle flexing. Let’s see how far this leads to!
