A Suitable Denial

In his typical, acerbic style, BarbarIndian dissects the Goddess of Absurdity. His summation of the essence(!) of her support for native US Indians (is Red Indian a term of abuse now?) caught my attention.

Her version of the story is as simple as those jerky moving images that passed for motion pictures prior to the invention of talkies.

* White people invaded America
* They slaughtered all Indians
* They occupied the land

I’m aware that yawning differences exist in the histories of the US and India, but there also exists a speck of both truth and similarity at some levels. Let’s do a fun exercise on the lines of BarbarIndian’s summary.

  • Arab Marauders invaded India or Bharatavarsha
  • They slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Hindus and forcibly converted equal numbers over several centuries.
  • They occupied the land

Repeat this with slight variation in technique and circumstances with the British (and their Holy accompaniments, the Missionaries) Story.

Funny the Goddess of Big Words never mentions this. What she does instead is this. [Outlook link courtesy, BarbarIndian)

…the Gujarat genocide is part of a larger, more elaborate and systematic vision. It tells us that the wheat is ripening and the grasshoppers have landed in mainland India.
