The Gujarat 2002 Riots Milk Federation is almost bankrupt. The Chairwoman Chairperson is making a desperate attempt to keep it going.

How do we remember what we wish had not happened? On February 28, it will be six years since the Gujarat riots. An event that polarised this generation as the Sikh riots before it, and Partition earlier. It is not improbable to think there will be another slew of violence for the next generation.
Activist Teesta Setelvad has had the unfortunate task of playing Cassandra in Gujarat and picking up the pieces of a world wrecked. They are planning a memorial of resistance in Gulbarg Society, where at least 70 people were killed in 2002. “With the courts delaying our cases, it’s been a huge strain to keep the struggle alive. We need something to keep our witnesses strong. That’s how we hit upon the idea of this museum,” she says.

Read the whole thing and try not to feel sorry for her.
