From Baroda to Chennai
I know I’m a little late in picking this storyup.
An exhibition on Mughal emperor Aurangzeb at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai was abruptly closed down and the paintings taken away by the police after protests that some of the depictions were objectionable and a distortion of history.
According to Foundation Against Continuing Terrorism (FACT), which organised the exhibition, the miniature paintings at the show depicted Aurangzeb’s “cruelty against not just his father and sons but the entire Hindu clan”. But within days of its opening on March 3, there were protests from certain quarters against the exhibition.
The focus here should really be on the reactions–or the lack thereof–of the Left-secular-liberal brigade. The studious silence again points to the obvious. “Majority” concerns don’t matter.
A Google news search shows just a handful of results for mainstream media coverage of this incident. Also notice how carefully the Slimes’ article is worded: But within days of its opening on March 3, there were protests from certain quarters against the exhibition…
Whereas, a more truthful reportsays:
The So called Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali was the one who made a fuss out of nothing after visiting the exhibition.
This again demonstrates how easy it is for any two-bit person with some following among the “Minorities” can whip up passions and have the entire establishment backing him/her. Tamil Nadu being what it is, the law enforcers did their bit by pitching in:
Ms Saraswati ( 65 ) a volunteer of FACT said, “The police was rude to us. They asked us whether we were terrorists. We were detained in the station for more than half an hour and they did not allow us to contact our family.” Another volunteer Ms Malathi said, “The police entered the exhibition hall at 7.30 pm and threw away some paintings.”
Again, as usual, no raging editorials on the threat to freedom of speech etc. Compare this to the gory pieces on living only in fear, and Fascism in Baroda. Wonder why that corner of the blogsphere is silent. Perhaps these strictures laid down in the Indian Liberal Rulebook apply only to Gujarat. More correctly, they do not apply where Islam is concerned.

The Beggars
Beggars are not those – who for economic reasons have temporarily spread their palms,

“Beggars” sole objective is one - their mind gets focused like a laser beam,

Country spends a lot on education and upliftment of “Beggars” and anti-nationals,
Learning fully at taxpayers’ cost they return to “Family Business” as professionals.
