The BJP’s election victory is expectedly the hot subject of discussion on the streets, restaurants, darshinis, paan shops, and bus stops of Bangalore. Yesterday, I was an uninvited party to one such discussion. A BJP worker was extolling his stellar campaigning work. In the middle of explaining how the leader of his constituency made money, he said, “given the kind of promises they have made, if my leader does at least 40% of ‘development works’ this time, we’ll more than double the victory margin in the next election.”

I think that given the fact that the state had experienced very poor governance since 2004, the bar might be set a bit low for this government. I am sure that people would not expect this government to be held hostage by Devegowda (like the previous coalition governments) and that it would concentrate on governance like improving infrastructure. Someone had told me that take out Bangalore, and Karnataka is a BIMARU state. Hopefully the government will try to do something to fix it.
What this means is simple, A KNOWN DEVIL IS BETTER THAN A UN KNOWN DEVIL….
BJP is the known devil, let’s accept it.
Bigger the organization, larger the corruption in it’s ranks. Yesterday, on NDTV or IBN , dont remember they ran a show ” BJP’S TAINTED MINISTERS”. They specifically singled out corrupt MLA from the ranks and how BSY will have to induct them in to the cabinet one way or the other if he has to maintain this lead for the next 5 years.
Sad but happens to be the truth today……
As I said, BJP will work for the betterment of Karantaka, so I suppose we will have to bite the bullet and let all this pass.
Why the price rise takes place during Congress Rule ? Or in other words why the inflation and whole sale price index cam down heavily during NDA’s rule ? I think price rise is related to corruption in arithmetical proportion.
