He should have just stayed home. And if he broke US laws shouldn't he be prosecuted? I'm not condoning what happened to him, but if an American sold our secrets won't we want him/her punished too according our laws? I agree that espionage is important, but spies should be doing what Parthasarathy was prosecuted for - acquire stealthy and use secrets that are useful, under diplomatic cover. Lessons from AQ Khan is clear. Do your thing and stay home. What would be more interesting is how Parthasarathy is treated after 30 months.
