Karunanidhi’s Gems Circa 2008
Monday, 10. November 2008 - 8:51 PM
With elections visible across the horizon, Karunanidhi is going at it with blazing barrels. No point “analyzing” this moron’s diseased mutterings. Nevertheless, here goes. Just the juicy bits.
Why scared ash and sacred thread in this holy land where all religions coexist in harmony?’ asked the Tamilnadu Chief Minister Karunandhi through one of his‘poems’, which he writes everyday in his party organ‘Murasoli’. Truth is God and those who cannot understand it are ignorant’, wrote Karunanidhi and added, ‘the face-off between atheists and theists is useless’… Karunanidhi’s Ramayana, which questions the qualifications of Rama, calls him drunkard and addresses Sita as the sister of Rama!…‘If a Brahmin and snake are seen together, the Brahmin must be killed first!’…After promulgating a law for appointment of ‘Archagas’ (Temple Priests) from all castes, the DMK government opened six training centres to train the boys for ‘one full year’ and to place them in any one of the temples controlled by HR & CE department in the state. Though the response for the training centres has been poor and inadequate, the government has reportedly come out with an order saying that the trainees and the new recruits must not wear the ‘poonal’, the ‘sacred thread’…
This one is really interesting.
When recently the Supreme Court emphasised the exclusion of the ‘creamy layer’ in its verdict of staying the implementation of 27% reservation for OBCs in elite educational institutions, Karunanidhi and Veeramani could not digest it and said, ‘how could two or three persons decide the fate of millions’? ‘The two Judges who issued a stay order were ‘thread-wearing’ Aryans!’
And in true Stalinist style, he disses Hindus for wearing Tilak and sacred ash on their foreheads.
Flaying the Hindu practice of smearing ash or saffron or sporting a ’tilak’ on the forehead for yet another time, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi questioned the need for ‘such things in a country which preached equality of all religions’…The DMK chief had made similar remarks on certain other Hindu customs earlier and described Hindus as ‘robbers’.
Now let’s wait for the day he says something similar about Muslim women wearing burqas and Muslim men wearing skull caps and Sikhs wearing turbans…

Excellent comment. Karunanidhi is senile. Let him comment about the Muslim head scarf or prayer cap in similar light and he would be attacked. The man had the audacity to likewise attack the Hindu calendar but would dare not touch the observance of a Muslim holiday in Tamil Nadu. The man is an opportunist with nothing to show except such gimmicks. Even his Sri Lanka policy is a failed one.
10. November 2008 - 9:44 PM
Had a Hindu leader put a reward on his head for his abs disgusting and stinking remarks, he would be branded communal by our very secular media.
10. November 2008 - 10:16 PM
He contradicts himself. ‘Truth is God,’ he says and also that all religions co-exist in harmony. If truth is God, then it is not important to consider the vote bank politics of religions and not ascribe to the many religious truths; every individual may invent his or her truth and live by it.
Of course, if truth is god, then all religions should fall under the wide spectrum of truth.
Truth, i say, would not waste time condemning people as robbers. If it is truth, then it will invent and live; it would not fall under a religion.
10. November 2008 - 11:02 PM
If Truth is God for Karunanidhi, let him find out the truth about this “Aryan vs Dravidian” business that he has built his whole political life on.
Day by day the Aryan Invasion Theory is being proved as a malicious piece of slander invented by colonialists to divide Indians, to wrap the divided fragments in a tight blanket of an inferiority complex, and loot the blinded natives in the blanket.
Even the BBC has said the Aryan Invasion Theory is trash. It did that several years ago.
But Karunanidhi, for whom all Truth is God as long as it keeps his misbegotten politics alive, refuses to see this inconvenient truth. Senile fool should be exiled to a retirement home and given daily lessons on history. The real history of Bharat, not the fake one our commies and JNUwallas keep dishing out.
10. November 2008 - 11:16 PM
MK reached senility long time back and my guess is he in now in the grips of Alzheimer’s disease. He can’t take any question asked about his (lack of) governance by local magazines/opposition and on every such mindlessly resorts their attacks as Brahmin’s hatred towards him. I wonder how can our constitution allow the head of a state to hold so much grudge and hatred towards a religion (Hinduism) and a community (Brahmins) within that, when he is responsible for the very social harmony of the state?
11. November 2008 - 12:45 AM
True atheists should feel compelled to denounce Karunanidhi. It is important to make the distinction – Karunanidhi is not an atheist, but rather an anti-Hindu.
Atheists are a rather gentle lot, a fact that needs to be pointed out since they’re sometimes unfairly grouped with anti-Hindus.
Atheists have no issue with people putting sacred ash, or indeed anything else on their forehead. Atheists defend the right of anyone to wear anything (or nothing) on any part of their body.
Atheists just reject the belief that wearing that ash results in favorable treatment from a celestial being (or indeed, any other measurable advantage) – simply because there is no peer-reviewed scientific evidence for the beings existence. Even in the extremely unlikely event that such a being exists, logic dictates that the being is likely to be too busy or too wise to care to keep track of who put ash, and who put vicks on their respective foreheads!

Mootoovel Karunanidhi could croak anyday now. These are the dying throes of a roach-asur. Take them with the smirk they deserve.
What is of interest is what will follow MK? Stalin? or Azhagiri? Anyway chances are ADMK will romp home this time.

Hi
I was sent the link by my brother. My grief or angst is that no Hindu leader–other than Subramaniam Swamy–takes all these comments on and refutes them publicly.
All media is funded by the Christians or Muslims and Congress which is worse than these two..so only the sensational bits are spotlighted. The real truth behind each practice and ritual of Hinduism is not explained or expressed by our experts.
Anyway–all these Brahmin haters have spouses, paramours, daughter’s and son’s in law from the Brahmin community.
In fact there is a concerted effort by many non-B youngsters in Tamil Nadu, especially prominent families, to catch a Brahmin spouse as that gives them immediate cachet. Do you know of any of these STARS in K’s family who has married a Muslim? No way–it is all Iyengar or Iyer connection.
Great piece. Keep writing.

karunanadhi is a scheming politico, there is no dout.
but someone saying this …
>> Even the BBC has said the Aryan Invasion Theory is
>> trash. It did that several years ago.
i am asking two questions.
#1 — why “even the BBC”? are they ultimate authority? so what if bbc says anything?
#2 — the BBC did not say “Aryan invasion theory is trash”. in a article abt Hinduisn (http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/hinduism/history/history_4.shtml), they said “many people argue that there is now evidence to show” that AIT was wrong. nexxt sentence in article also says that “Others, however, believe that the case against the Aryan invation theory is far from conclusive.”
ie, bbc is just mentioning that it is controversy.
12. November 2008 - 3:40 PM
AIT has been abandoned even by Harvard professors like Witzel. They now subscribe to AMT– Aryan Migration Theory. Of course, some people still go on publishing articles on AIT, which means we still have two views (supporters/non-supporters) on AIT, which means it still remains in the list of “alive” theories, albiet under “controversial” subheading. This ensures that, the AIT (which is already proven to be a dead theory), and not the current AMT, is targetted first by OIT (Out of India Theory) supporters who would waste their time trying to dubunk an already obselete theory instead of attacking shortcomings in the AMT.
In short, the now dead AIT is just a shield to guard the new and developing AMT till enough literature is published for cross-reference and peer review within their own circles.
Games people play with our past!

Have you looked at this blog by Sagarika. Some of the salient features
“Hindu samitis and sanghs are proliferating. Their membership is made up mostly of young men. These young men feel constantly insulted, constantly outraged by plays, articles and minorities. Their method of protest is always violence. ” (I like the last line)
“But there is a more important reason for Hindu rage. And this lies, in what social scientists describe as the commonality between the ascetic and the terrorist.”
“They feel they are left out of economic progress and left out of the political mainstream. There are millions of individuals who even at age 35 get nowhere in life. Their small business packs up or their promotions are denied. In an earlier time these bitter men would have become sadhus. Now, they get recruited to the cause of Hindu rage.”
“The thousands of underemployed or semi-employed youths who are perpetually available to be part of screaming “nationalist” mob against “minorities”, are not just protesting about Muslims: they are screaming out their own economic and cultural deprivation. “

Sudhir,
I am dissecting her piece as we speak. But thanks

I think comparing this blog with her previous blog will bring forth her duplicity. Her previous blog “Those blasted Theories” she suspects the Delhi police even after one of their officers was killed in the encounter. But here “allegedly” “supposedly” “sources say” are sufficient for her to convince that hindu terrorism is a reality.
Also no mention of so called intellectuals who doubted the Delhi encounter.
Hope to see a thorough blasting of Miss Sagarika’s rantings in your next blog.

Shuvro,
“Even the BBC” because most, if not all, AIT-lovers believe deep in their hearts the BBC is the most unbiased thing in the world.
I personally have been following the AIT-AMT debates for years, plus I think the BBC is really the British Bastion of Cluelessness, the way they handle other topics. However, not everybody gives the BBC the short shrift it deserves; many people are in awe of the “great” BBC, and that is why “even the BBC”.
Most of what I write is meant for the not-so-savvy Macaulayite Indian, please keep that in mind. If I like an academician, I will lose my target audience. Not that too many of my target audience will visit this blog, but soundbites do get carried across.

“Why scared ash and sacred thread in this holy land where all religions coexist in harmony”
He must have been either drunk or he must be growing senile to say such a thing………

I don’t particularly care if Shaivism & Vaishnavism were offshoots of Christianity or not, but I do wonder why a state government headed by an atheistic party has a separate department called the HRCE (‘Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments’) ministry!
The government has no business to indulge in religion, or in business for that matter!

Hi, this is the first time i ever visited a blog site. MK, is against hindus, but his wife/wives are still following the hindu culture of having kumkum on their forehead, wearing mangalsuthra. These people only talk against faith of people and faith in the religion. one thing is clear here. he got married as many times as he can which is followed in islam( sorry if my abovestatment is wrong or hurting anyone). a krishnan temple just opposite to his house, always wearing yellow color( sacred color) on his shoulders.
these all show that he is true atheists. hats off to his politics and behaviour in politics. these people are fooling around the public with their midas talk and poems..
i will be a regular visitor to this site.

Karunanidhi is a Telugu who only cares for Telugu castes getting reserved in Tamil Nadu. He cant call himself an atheist. He is basically a Tamil hater.

I don’t quite follow this reasoning:
Why scared ash and sacred thread in this holy land where all religions coexist in harmony?
* What’s religious harmony got to do with ashes and threads? Have I missed something here?
Also the word ‘holy’ implies a certain divinity to land (presumably he meant the country). Coming from a self-described atheist, such a description of one’s country looks odd.

karuna is crazy and an imbicile, but as of his rentings about brahmins is true.after buddhism teh new hindu religion of idol worship wa started by brahmins through adi shankracharya and now the temples have earings of trillions of rupees per annum all over india .a hindu will like big b and ambanis will donate crores on temples and british stooges like birla had built many temples for saving taxes.the brahmins destroyed all ancient hindu texts in collusion with muslim, rajput and british kings to subdue the other hindus.they further divided the castes into subcastes of numerous hues and specially the kshatriya caste, who started fighting between themselves and held small small king doms which led to downfall of india.during britishraj brahmins and kaysthas were in majority in civil services nad helped british rule india.afetr independence under another brahmin nehru, who purposely kept the same beaurocrats who were harrassing indians religiously and economically continued to be at the helm of indian governace and helped nehru`s brahminical congress party till mandal was let loose by another lunatic like karuna late mr.v.p.singh.in all this endeavour the banias or gandhi`s clan were the financers of this brahminical diabolic design.india should have reservation for jobs for all other castes except the brahmins and vysyas then only this kuchakra can be broken and india will prevail once again in the world like ancient times.

Karunanidhi is not a Tamil. He and his Hindi mudhalaalis like Desh “Bakthi” (Desa durogi) want to drive Tamil including Bramhmins away from Tamil Nadu and replace with Hindi and Telugus. His party is known to sponsor attacks on Tamil dalits in Southern TN and blames on Tamils of forward castes.
KARUNANIDHI IS A TELUGU. KARURANIDHI IS ANTI-TAMIL. KARUNANIDHI PREFERS HINDI PEOPLE OVER TAMILIANS!!!
