More Mountain Weed Turd

Turdesai is not content with smoking Mountain Weed alone. He feeds it to his staff as well by making them write an “explanation” for why his channel didn’t telecast the damaging tapes. From trying to assuage his non-existent conscience to enforcing his guilt upon his staff, Turdesai sinks to newer and newer lows. Owe it [...]

History Blogging at its Best

In a truly awesome post dissecting our Puppet Prime Minister’s daughter’s dubious attempt to categorize historians, JK covers a spacious spectrum. His dissection is a series of consecutive slaps to the lady, who is ever so politically correct despite having her flashes of intelligence. But the best thing about his post is the amount of [...]

SAALT, PEEPER, DRUM, DISK, SAYA, MAYA…

Amardeep Singh, the kind professor who refused to engage me in debate writes about his strong support to forming SAALT [link thanks: Gaurav]

Burn, my Beloved City

Update: A friend I was chatting with just told me that another bomb, placed inside a bucket opposite the Forum mall was defused in a timely manner by the cops. It seems somebody saw a guy wearing a red T-Shirt put a bucket down and walk away. This person immediately called the cops. The friend [...]

The King Stripped Naked

The UPA’s trust vote victory has once again proved why it pays to be cynical. I firmly go by this diktat in watching Indian politics: never underestimate the Congress party’s potential for scurviness. It is an art the party has perfected for a few decades with singleminded dedication. It is hard to find any other [...]

Media Games

Forget politics. Media watching promises to be a jolly activity. Rajdeep Sardesai’s fiery journalism leads the charade. CNN-IBN seems to change colours almost every other second. From sounding out the Left in a piece that is shockingly pro-capitalist one day to cozying up to Amar Singh yet another day, the media house is zigzagging big [...]

Dharma 101: A Critique

As promised to Yossarin, I hereby add, clarify, and (hope to) correct some items in Yossarin’s elucidation of Dharma. I’ve adopted his question-answer format because it offers a nice readymade template.

Dear Mr. Ramachandra Guha…Cont’d

Via the Acorn, who in this excellent short-shrift to cricket-commentator-turned-pseudo Historian, Ramachandra Guha, adequately delivers the treatment the piece deserves. From the paragraph Nitin quotes,

We need to repair, one by one, the institutions that have safeguarded our unity amidst diversity…

I challenge Mr. Guha to name exactly one institution that has done all these.
