hye there, great article,
i always believed and still believe that indian symbols and myths has a greater meaning to it.many such stories are still myth because the science of this era has not developed to that height ,one day it will all be revealed yet there are many instances where modern science and few myths go hand in hand,,such as ghandari giving birth to 100 sons in a unconventional way, the birh of balaram,astras or weapons used in puranic wars ,depiction of gods and godesses and many more.. and when the story unfolds about these myths or symbols it makes ur hair stand ,bow down to the great thinkers and philosopers.
at the same time, the simple stories that we have about our gods and godesses and under trained brains which do not qualify even to comment on such things dare to write on indian philosophy and make a mokery of it. well sundeep u have given such people a fitting explaination and surely made them realize their misdeeds and study deeper about india.

Well done!
Dasgupta hovered near the ground for a while but has got onto the fence very quickly!
What you are is quickly revealed when you are in the company of foreigners–you tend to give simplistic, disparaging,dismissive or self-effacing comments.
When my own views began to fructify, for example, I was accosted on a flight from the USA to India by an American missionary who laid out his views and agenda with aplomb. After mumbling some neutral remarks, I sought to turn away, but was aggressively buttonholed again ! This time is decided to let him have it within earshot of my largely Indian co-passengers. After taking him apart without any remorse, he quickly excused himself and disappeared for the rest of the flight. All my co-passengers nodded their approval after he had left.
But, Dasgupta is intelligent and quick to engage, and appeared openly supportive of the BJP for a while, but appears to have been disregarded after the internal schism of the BJP. Let’s watch …..

Couldn’t agree more, Sandeep. Thanks for this post. This also addresses the ignorant rants of a former Slimes editor this morning on its op-ed page. Maybe someone should send him this link!

Am glad you clarified that the oft-quoted ancient Khajuraho sculptures (contrary to perception among the godless commies and even many pious Hindus who do not know their own faith, philosophy, traditions & history well enough) depict only erotic apsaras — and even those have much deeper symbolic meaning.

What also angers many is the contrasting manner in which Hindu and non-Hindu icons are portrayed by MFH. Pretty much in line with the disparaging scorn for our land and culture that the intolerant crusaders and jihadis have always had.

Journalists and their lot:
1)How can the entire bunch of journalists have such biased anti-Hindu views?
2)How can they blank out all news regarding one political party in the last election?
3) How can all of them vouch for the Congress (which has ruined the country for at least 50 years)? 4) How can they showcase the likes of Mulayam, Laloo and Mayawati not too mention the pathetic Sonia and the toothless Manmohan? (5)How can consistently perverse, anti-national, anti-Hindu attitudes in the Slimes and the Chindu be explained? A million more points can be written without effort.GI. Gurdjieff writes in his works that “the worst scoundrels, scumbags, layabouts and good-for-nothings” of his time became these so called “journalists”. These people have assumed enormous power today. Blogs have arisen to combat them and this terrible state of affairs.

Happy Nav varsh 2067. and congrats for great article on symbolism and meaning. In arts word “Metafer” is extensively used and most of the purana and mahakavya like ramayan have plenty of them. the word means comparison of a complex phenomena to a more simple and well known idea to convey its meaning right. In presents time, so called leculars and anti hindu fail to see the real meaning in this idea.
